5.14     TEAM EQUIPMENT/GAME MANAGEMENT See SHA Policy 1.06

 

Sarnia Hockey Association provides each player on a Representative team with a home and away jersey which they keep at the end of the season.  Player names may be attached to the jersey by either including the name when the jersey order is submitted in the Spring after the player selection and carding process is completed or by using name bars on jerseys provided in the Fall after the Fall player selection and carding process is completed.  Player’s complete last names must be used, nick names or shortened versions are not permitted.

 

Representative teams are provided pucks, pylons and first aid kits.  Team lockers are provided in the equipment room at Clearwater Arena.  Each team is issued a unique lock and key to the team locker.

 

Only SHA officials (not parents or players) are allowed in equipment storage areas.  Lockers and equipment storage areas are to be always kept neat and clean.  All SHA equipment, including the lock and key, must be returned in full within two (2) weeks of elimination (including first-aid kits, pucks, pylons, and any other item issued to the team) or as otherwise determined by the SHA Representative Team Equipment Director. 

 

Electronic game sheet iPads are issued to each team playing full ice games.  A charging cord/plug, may be included and iPad cover.  The iPad management is managed by the Vice President Administration.  A sign-out sheet with instructions on GameSheet Inc. invitation code and league iPad access key is provided prior to the team manager/ team contact before the first league or exhibition home game, typically in early September.  The iPad, charging cord/plug (if applicable) and iPad cover must be returned to the Vice President Administration after the last home game of the season.  The team is responsible to replace any lost or significantly
damaged items.

IMPORTANT Game Management-GAMESHEET.INC iPads are used for electronic game reporting for home games. An I-Pad is available at each venue we have our home games, so that The coach and/or manager must record his players/AP's/coaching staff and penalty serving information before it is handed over for the competition staff to complete. Rosters are downloaded from the Hockey Canada Data base. The coach in charge of any team shall be regarded as the official of the team for the game. This is the Head Coach if he is participating in the game This individual will assume responsibility to the Alliance for the eligibility of all players of the team in the game, and for the conduct of their team officials and players during the game and while travelling to and from the game. If a player or players of the visiting or home team fail to reach the arena prior to game time, the responsible official of the said team shall notify, PRIOR TO THE GAME TIME, the referee and the responsible official of the other team the name or names of such players who have been delayed, but would otherwise be playing. The players shall be permitted to take their place in the game on arrival, provided their name is on the game sheet.

SUSPENSIONS – RULE INFRACTIONS
Once a game has been uploaded the coach should review any suspensions via the Game Sheet Dashboard. Please refer to all the Alliance Handbooks regarding the length of suspensions. e.g. OHF Minimum Suspension List, CH rule book, Alliance Handbook etc. Do not guess at how long the player should sit. If the player plays when still suspended, it will result in further suspensions to the head coach and the player. Confirm through your Director, or the Vice President of Rep, or their designate.
